The Mendez Foundation provides several kinds of interactive educational trainings designed to ensure your successful implementation
of Too Good. Because our staff of professional trainers has extensive experience teaching the Too Good prevention education programs in the classroom, they bring model status prevention education strategies coupled with practical knowledge to every training.to give you the skills and confidence to deliver Too Good with ease and fidelity.

Curriculum Training

To implement the Too Good Programs in the classroom and beyond, with ease, confidence and fidelity, the Too Good Programs Curriculum Training is a must for educators and prevention education providers. Too Good Curriculum Trainings are available On-Site at your location and in regularly scheduled Open Trainings across the country. (see below for location description)

Curriculum Training is available for all of the Too Good programs. To make the most of the training experience, providers should purchase and review Too Good curricula prior to attending the training session.

Training of Trainers

Maximize the reach of your training investment. This one-day comprehensive session will give you the knowledge and skills necessary to train other professionals in your district or community who intend to deliver the Too Good programs.

  • Learn the essentials for serving as the Too Good programs support person for your school district or agency
  • Explore best practices in prevention
  • Explore different personality styles
  • Learn presentation techniques to maximize your training effectiveness
  • Learn how to organize and conduct Too Good Programs Curriculum Trainings
  • Network and share ideas with other Prevention Specialists

To attend a Training of Trainers session, participants must meet the following criteria:

  • Attended curriculum training conducted by a Mendez Foundation Trainer. Attendance at a curriculum training conducted by a Too Good Programs Certified Trainer does not fulfill this pre-requirement.
  • Experience in implementing a minimum of one grade level of Too Good for Drugs, Too Good for Violence or one complete program implementation of Too Good for Drugs & Violence High School or Too Good for Drugs & Violence After-School Activities.

Upon completion of a TOT session, participants will be certified for their organization to train in the Too Good Program(s) in which they received curriculum training and completed program implementation. TOT Certifications will be valid for a period of 2 years. Too Good Program Trainers will be required to complete re-certification training if they wish to maintain their certification.

Training Formats

On-Site Trainings

Mendez Foundation training professionals are available to travel to your school district or community to develop and implement a Too Good Programs Curriculum Training customized to your specific needs. Our trainers will work with you to build a training program designed for the specific grade levels and make up of your classrooms or after-school settings. Trainers will work with your educators to help them master delivering the Too Good Programs in their classrooms or community centers so that you can maximize the effectiveness of the Too Good Programs.

On- Site Trainings are a cost-effective option for schools, districts or community agencies that need to train groups of 10 to 40 participants. We will train participants so they can take the programs right to the classroom or after-school setting following their training. Smaller school districts and agencies may collaborate with nearby districts or agencies to share the cost of an On-Site Training.

The cost of an On-Site Curriculum Training is $2,000 per day plus travel expenses for the Trainer. Each training requires a minimum of 10 participants with a maximum of 40 participants.

The cost of an On-Site Training of Trainers session is $400 per person, plus travel expenses for the Trainer. Each TOT requires a minimum of 5 participants with a maximum of 40 participants.

Open Trainings

Too Good Open Trainings provide a comprehensive, convenient training solution for participants in schools and community agencies throughout the United States. Designed for the school district or agency that plans to train only a few individuals, Open Trainings are a cost effective option. These trainings feature 2-3 days of hands-on curriculum training in a group environment. These training sessions provide participants with the opportunity to network and share best practices with prevention specialists from across the country.

The cost of each Curriculum Training session at an Open Training is $275 per person.

The cost of the Training of Trainers session at an Open Training is $400 per person.
