After School Activities

Too Good for Drugs & Violence™ – After-School Activities (ages 5–13) is a dynamic program that includes activities adapted from our award-winning school-based programs, including Too Good for Drugs™ K–8 and Too Good for Violence™ K–8. Designed for recreation centers, community or after-school settings, these activities augment school-based prevention programs with fun and engaging opportunities to learn and practice prevention skills.

Too Good for Drugs & Violence™ – After-School Activities (ages 5 –13) builds skills and strengthens healthy development in eight key areas:

  • goal setting
  • communication
  • decision making
  • conflict resolution
  • managing emotions
  • drug awareness
  • bonding and relationships
  • community involvement

Too Good for Drugs & Violence™– After-School Activities kit materials include games, songs and stories tailored to a child’s interests and developmental level. Parents are also invited to participate through the use of Home Workouts. Lessons are tailored to two distinct groups: ages 5–9 and ages 10 –13. Each kit includes:

  • instructor’s curriculum with more than 60 activities
  • scripted lesson format
  • colorful, attractive materials
  • parent components
  • enrichment resources

Evaluation

Each of the Too Good Programs includes an evaluation instrument for you to gauge the implementation of the Too Good Programs in your classroom.

Training

While the Too Good Programs do not require training for effective implementation, we do recommend that you receive training prior to implementing the Too Good Programs in your school or District. Our trainings are fun and interactive and will introduce you to the what makes these programs so engaging and effective.
